How we roll

Charlbury Cycling Club is built around a simple idea: riding is better when more people feel comfortable joining in.

We’re not here to race each other, chase segments, or prove a point. We ride for the enjoyment of it – and the promise of a decent slice of cake.

Keeping it simple

That doesn’t mean every ride is slow. It just means no one’s left hanging off the back wondering what they’ve signed up for.

When we ride

Our regular Sunday rides are the backbone of the club. We usually run two options:

Relaxed
Around 20-odd miles at a steady, sociable pace. Ideal if you’re newer to cycling, getting back into it, or just want an easy spin with plenty of chat.

Quicker
Usually around 30–35 miles, with a bit more pace and purpose. You’ll still get the same group feel, just with slightly less hanging about.

Other rides
During the lighter evenings, we organise weekday rides. The exact day, time and distance tend to flex depending on who’s around.

From time to time, people also set up ad-hoc rides. If you’re keen to get out, there’s usually someone else up for it.

All ride details and updates are shared in the club WhatsApp group, which is where everything gets organised.
